Twitter Trailers Will Now Highlight in the Timeline!

Twitter has recently promised its regular users about highlights of Promoted Tweets (advertisements) to at or very near the top of timelines of the users. It is just a year back that Twitter introduced Promoted Tweets online for its users.

However, so far these tweets have just shown up when audiences search Twitter for specific or relevant keywords. For instance, when someone searched for the keyword “movie”, the top post displayed will be sponsored by HP (Hewlett-Packard), promoting its latest MovieStore and TouchPad app.

Now Twitter has decided to make a change in this activity. These paid Twitter posts will be highlighted in the main streams of Twitter streams.

In case, the user follows a specific organization, he/she will be benefitted. According to Twitter, the ads will show up just once. It can also be removed easily via clicking the term, “dismiss” available under the post.

Recently, it has been reported that Twitter had about 400 million exclusive visitors to their site. This assessment did not include other popular ways people access Twitter including via cellphone applications. Apart from offering Promoted Tweets, Twitter is also focussing on selling two different types of ads such as Promoted Trends and Promoted Accounts. The Promoted Trends will display a list of trending topics. The Promoted Accounts, which display in the list of whom to actually follow.

In a formal company related blog post, Twitter wrote:

“When we decide to follow a favourite brand, business or charitable organization, we expect to be among the first to get a special announcement, access to exclusive content or a great offer,”
It also added “That’s why starting today, we’re introducing a way to ensure that the most important tweets from the organizations you follow reach you directly.”

At the crucial Fortune Brainstorm Tech seminar, the chief executive of Twitter, Dick Costolo revealed that the total number of advertisers was low in number for the past few decades and it has been tremendous recently. The number, according to Dick Costolo increased sevenfold! He also added that about 80 percent of supercool brands have renewed their promotions with Twitter.

Costolo genuinely felt that the financial status of the company was progressing just as it was planned. He was proud of introducing the facility to edit as well as manage a promotion campaign in real time. This was a revolution in the field of ads and never existed anywhere in the world before.

•    Gatorade
•    JetBlue
•    Starbucks

Twitter will also demonstrate Promoted Tweets from some non-profit administrations followed religiously by users.
