One of the new entrants in the market for notebooks, Samsung 5 Chrome OS laptop is a stylish presentation of the company.

The notebook lays special emphasis on security, simplicity and speed amongst the many unique features that the gadget boasts of.

The engineering expertise for the notebook has been done in association with Google and in one word is simply superb!

The body of the Chromebook of the Samsung series 5 is slim at 0.79 inches and the display is not only super bright but well placed at 12.1 inches.

The display is bright enough to work well both outdoors and indoors. The schedule for the launch of the laptop has been tentatively kept for 15th June.

The weight of the Chromebook is supposed to hover around 3.3 lbs with an expected battery life of almost 8.5 hours, which includes video playback of 5 hours.

The operating system of the Chromebook is new and the best feature of the series is the fact that the notebook takes just around 10 seconds for starting up. The battery life of 8.5 hours is nothing short of being incredible.

The startup time is remarkable when compared to the fact that a majority of the laptops in the market take a time of a minimum boot-up time of 45 seconds. In fact, the battery life of the Chromebook is also thrice that of normal laptops in the market.

The processor of the Chromebook is an Intel Core 2 Duo N570 running at 1.66 Ghz. One of the advantages of using this processor is the fact that you can retrieve all the data of the laptop even if it is lost accidentally or otherwise.

The security concern regarding the loss of data is reduced as you can move everything to a cloud.

Thus, the data of the laptop is actually saved online, effectively meaning that even if the Chromebook is lost or broken, the data stored there will be surely recovered.

The series 5 caters to digital entertainment lifestyle and has features like multi-media viewing and social networking.

Other notable features of the laptop include a full-sized Chrome keyboard and a resolution of 16:10. The multi-touch track pad is oversized which adds to the comfort of usage.

When you resume the laptop from standby, it does so instantly. The display of the laptop is 36% brighter than other standard displays.

The webcam is HD, and the stereo speakers and digital microphone are built-in. There is full support for various types of removable media cards for music, documents, videos and photos.

The price of the Chromebook is likely to be on the expensive side at $499 for Wi-Fi with 3G and $429 for the plain Wi-Fi version.
