iPadBeats Netbook!

It is official. The netbook will not be referred to as the hottest technology gadget anymore! The position has been replaced by the latest player in the arena, Apple.

Yes, it is the iPadby Apple that is looked upon as the hottest gadget of the year. It has almost replaced the small notebook PC priced at about 300 US dollars as the most sought after gizmo.

The netbook fall down was not instant. It has come down in the time span of about 2 years. Last year in April, Apple launched its tablet Pc. The tech experts warned people and gadget enthusiasts about the notebook death.

Yes, the introduction of Apple Tablet PC was a death sentence to Netbook. In January 2011, Acer, the popular player in the PC making market has declared a complete phase out for its netbook.

The official release of Android tablets utilizing Intel chips in the first half of 2001 was also announced by Acer. The tablet will measure around 7-inch-10-inch.

The introduction of netbook to the market in the year 2009 was considered revolutionary. Over 7.5 million units were instantly sold in the United States. The total sales record across the globe crossed 34 million! However, the phase was soon over.

The sales apparently started to dip in the year 2010. It is said that during Christmas holidays, the netbook retail sales record in the United States went down to about 38 percent as compared to what it was in the previous year.

This was not just the fall of netbooks. Even laptops and their sales had seen a significant downfall after the introduction of iPad. This is due to the superb capability of iPads to offer excellent quality search as well as email functions.

These are also known to be the most sought after functions of the netbook. As per a study conducted by a market monitor, it has been brought to light that over 90 percent of tablet PC owners search and email on their gadgets.

The major shortcoming here is complaints coming from recent iPad owners. They complain of difficulty with typing in a tablet PC.

The rising popularity of Apple's iPad had resulted in a number of rivals including Dell and Hewlett-Packard. It is said that Research in Motion and Samsung are also coming up with their latest unique versions of tablet PC.

Industry observers, however, said the weak netbook sale is also because of the small computer's underperformance. Many unit owners complained that their PCs were slow and could not handle many popular software applications.

Netbooks were known to be the highest selling gadgets last year. However, this is not the case anymore. The tablet has been replaced with the high rising popularity of Apple iPads.
