Live longer with antioxidants

Do you know that you can actually live longer by including good amount of antioxidants in your diet. No wonder the whole world and the entire health industry is taking about the benefits antioxidant on human body. You must have definitely read a lot about beneficial effects of antioxidants on human body.

Antioxidants are also referred to as miracle or super food that facilitate you to live longer and younger. These substances are also responsible for keeping you fit and disease free for lifetime.

There are many benefits of including healthy antioxidant in your diet.

What are antioxidants?


An antioxidant can be referred to as a substance that fights off ‘free radicals’ produced in the body during the digestion or oxidation process.

Oxidation is a natural process that human body under goes in order to release energy from varied types of foods we consume.

However, there is a negative effect of oxidation in the body. During this process, free radicals are released in the body in the form of extra or additional electrons.

This is quite harmful for our body. This is also the reason that we require antioxidants in the body that act as security guards to protect the body from bad elements.

The best way to provide adequate antioxidants to the body is via consuming foods, rich in antioxidants. This is also the best way in which you can keep your body away from free radicals.

The lifestyle we lead these days is not favorable for our body. We eat a lot of junk food,  processed foods and preserved items.

This can cause a lot of damage to the body and its normal functioning. Processed foods with sugars and fat contain very low levels of antioxidants.

These foods also tend increase the level of LDL or bad cholesterol in the body. This can lead to many serious illnesses such as heart attack, stroke, cancer etc.

Make sure you reduce the intake of food that are low in antioxidants. There are many antioxidants rich foods that you can include in your daily diet. Here is a list of what you must include:

Acai berries:

These are known to be the king of antioxidants. You can also include, other berries in your diet such as raspberries, strawberries and blueberries. The darker the berry, the more antioxidants it contains.

Garlic:

The food is rich in iodine, Zinc, Calcium, selenium and vitamins A, C and B. these can lower cholesterol in the body to a great extent.

Tomatoes:

These are rich in Lycopene. The agent works against fighting serious diseases and aging.
