Live Longer: Reasons to Quit Smoking

If you want to live longer and lead a healthy life, it is important to quit smoking now. Smoking is injurious to health.

This is also imprinted on the packet of cigarettes that you purchase from the market. There are several reasons to quit smoking. Here are some of the reasons you should stay away from tobacco.

* Smoking can lead to many serious cardiovascular diseases including poor circulation, heart attack, angina, and stroke.

* Smoking can cause lung cancer

* Cigarettes consist of more than four thousand chemical compounds and numerous toxic substances that can be fatal for your health

* Cigarette burns at 700 degree Celsius. This heat breaks down the tobacco to produce various toxins.

Cigarette contains many elements that hurt health.

It is high in tar which is a carcinogen that causes cancer. The nicotine present in cigarette is addictive. This enhances levels of cholesterol in the body. The tobacco product also contains carbon monoxide that minimizes oxygen levels in the body. This is really harmful for the body.

The damage in the body of a smoker is caused by the number of cigarettes one smokes in a day. It also depends on the manner in which the tobacco is prepared.

According to studies and researches, it has been proved that smoking tends to reduces life expectancy of the smoker by 7-8 years. You would be surprised to know that every cigarette that you smoke will cut short your life by 11 minutes.

It is unfortunate but true that many people in the United Kingdom die every day due to health hazards of smoking. Most of these people are young smokers.
 
Non-smokers are known to lead a better life.

They are not prone to serious health hazards such as lung cancer and cardiovascular diseases. Cardiovascular disease is known to be the major cause of death. This is caused due to smoking.

Smoking cigarette is known to speed up the process of hardening as well as narrowing of your arteries. Smokers can also develop a serious disease known as coronary thrombosis almost ten years earlier as compared to non-smokers. Smokers are also prone to cancer more than non-smokers.

They are vulnerable to several types of cancers such as lung cancer, bladder cancer, cancer of the oesophagus, cancer of the kidneys, cancer of the pancreas and cervical cancer.

There are many other health problems smokers suffer from. These include rise in blood pressure resulting in hypertension, heart attacks, and stroke. Smoking couples may also suffer from fertility problems. Smoking also worsens asthma symptoms.


With so many health hazards of smoking, you must quit smoking now.
