Improve Veteran Mental Health

Unfortunately, increasing numbers of Veterans are getting diagnosed with serious mental health conditions.

These often exist with other medical conditions. Unfortunately, over 1.5 million Veterans have been detected with mental health illness last year.

This indicates the importance of offering treatment, early diagnosis and other forms of support required for Veterans in this case.  

The importance should be given to the following areas:

* Identify and assess new wide-ranging approaches to recover mental health through prevention, timely diagnosis and effective treatment.

Recognize precise and effective measures to monitor effectiveness. This helps in experts and professionals to assigns resources in an efficient manner.

* Developing and testing latest treatment models in order to eliminate stigma linked with admitting problems and looking for help.

Challenges

War and terrorist interdictions have a devastating effect on the psyche of the military soldier. The basic problem is that most of the Veterans and military officials require going through immense amount of stress and depression.

The impact is more when they are subjected to various other terror inflicted situations such as terrorism and war.

Another problem is that no predictable patterns can be relied upon. These officials are usually subjected to random torrid events that may occur from hidden explosives in an attempt to sniper attacks.

Most of the time, anxiety and fear results in stress.

This also gives way to ideal situations for producing human psychopathology. 

It is important to look for the following:

* Rise in the cadre of providers trained and certified to offer proven care. , so that the capacity is adequate for current and future needs

* Modified policies and plans to support lively duty personnel and veterans to offer requisite and prompt care

* Offer effective and proven care based on evidence to all service members and veterans as per the services offered.

* Emphasizing on investments to promote research.

There are many key issues that require being taken into consideration as far as veteran mental health and wellbeing is considered. The problem should be taken into consideration seriously.

Solution

* An important consideration to make is to adjust financial compensation for the providers in order to help them offer adequate compensation, support and incentives.

This will attract them and help them employ and retain highly qualified professionals. This will also motivate them to offer first rate services.

* Development of certification procedure to text the scientific qualifications of mental health service providers.

Providers must also demonstrate essential knowledge of exclusive military civilization, military service, and issues specifically applicable to veterans.

* Growing existing training sessions for professionals such as psychiatrists, social workers and psychologists. Therapists dealing in marriage and family counselling should include trainings related to their curricula.

* Establishment of regional training centers for combined training of VA, DoD, and civilian providers.

* Linking documentation to schooling to guarantee that providers receive requisite training.

* Make sure that well supervised and monitored training adhering to quality standards are offered, met and maintained in the long run.
