Can Mental Health Disorder be Genetic?

Psychological health is also referred to as mental health. It indicates positive nature of an individual to fight off severe conditions of life. However, under any circumstances, if an individual is unable to cope up with problems in life or take stress in his stride, he/she becomes vulnerable to mental illness.

Mental illness is a very serious matter and needs to be catered seriously. Now the question is what causes mental illness apart from inability to handle stress and daily problems in life? Is mental health problem genetic?

Well there are many mental health disorders categorized as genetic. Tourette syndrome is one of them. The condition is also labelled as severe or chronic.

Proper care and medication is required to fight off the disease. Usually adept and accurate care in conjunction with instructions coming from a paediatrician/child psychiatrist is important to diagnose the problem at its earlier stage.

There are many signs and symptoms related to Tourette syndrome to watch out for. Generally, the problem starts off without any significant signs and symptoms. The problem increases with time. It is said that mental health ailments are often results of genes present at birth and followed from one generation to the other.

The key to fight off a mental health problem is early diagnosis. Diagnosis and adept consultation from an experienced psychiatrist can help you overcome most of the neurological disorders.

The problem is that people remain reluctant to discuss their mental health related problems with doctors or health care practitioners. This makes the situation worse and leads to increase in severity of the problem.

People do not prefer visiting a doctor or psychiatric as they feel that the routine is not apt for them and they are mentally fit. This makes them delay visit to a specialist. Most people fail to notice signs of mental health ailments such as blinking, facial frowns and a lot more.

Twitch or spasms are abrupt. There are many sign of mental health illness that can be noticed in childhood. These include vocalizations and repetitive movements in a child. Given below is a list of symptoms of mental health illness.

The disorder also shows other symptoms including obsession, involuntary movement, and a lot more. Timely treatment and professional advice can help a patient overcome the problem.

Fighting the trauma of mental health illness may not be easy for the patient and those related to him/her. However, timely assistance, professional treatment and support from family members and loved ones can help the patient recover from the problem at the earliest.
