It is very difficult to know whether or not your colleagues are at work mentally. Of course, you would definitely find them working physically in your office.

However, this is not enough to confirm their mental presence. If you are serious about the growth of your organization and want to increase profit prospects in your business, it is important to ensure their mental wellness.

Experts in the field of mental health and wellness field feel that there is a direct relationship between your employees’ mental health and profits of your business.

It is very important to make sure that your staff works to full potential. Know whether your employees are suffering from excess stress, depression and angst.

The best way to determine this is to check whether or not the following listed below is a frequent affair in your office:

* Frequent number of absenteeism
* Sickness claims
* Infrequent sales
* Unsatisfactory staff turnover
* Unhappy employees

The key to determine whether or not your employees are working to their full potential is to keep a track of mental wellbeing of your workplace. 

However, this will not happen on its own. You require making some efforts towards this. Try creating strategies to manage mental health of your workplace. In fact, there are several things that you can do to help your employees.

For instance, it is important to train your employees about First Aid, WHIMMIS and CPR. Most offices do not offer adept training sessions and direction packages. Make sure that mental health training is an integral part of this program.

The problem may not be very common but it is true that about one in every five employees tend to face problems related to mental health in their lifetime.

This is apart from the usual depression and anxiety most people tend to face due to work pressure, huge targets and deadlines inn their office.

Most of the time, these emotions go undiagnosed and left untreated. These may create many problems in the long run.nce it would be wise to prepare plans and accurate procedures to administer mental health at workplace.

Here are some questions you require asking to yourself when incorporating mental wellbeing as an integral part of your office administration and work strategies:


What is the approach of your organization around mental illness?

Do you have different approach to treat employees with different problems?

Is an employee with broken elbow treat differently as compared to one struggling with bipolar illness?

Is there a strategy that sends adequate support, flowers, well wishes and meal to an employee who falls sick?

Understand that all kinds of illnesses require being treated and given equal attention. Mental illness is no different. You will experience a drastic improvement in the profit prospects of your organization once you change your attitude a little and show your employees that you care.

Offer adequate training to your staff on recognizing signs and symptoms of mental illness. Your managers should also be trained towards identifying various mental health issues as compared to idleness or self defiance.

Making little changes at your workplace will do a lot to your work environment and general well being of your employees.
