Diet Tips to remember while eating in a restaurant

Have you been invited to a dinner party by one of your friends but are looking for excuses to skip it since you are on a diet?

Don’t ignore your temptations. You don’t have to avoid eating at restaurant, simply because you have a diet plan to adhere to.

There are ample ways in which you can enjoy the restaurant food and still avoid overeating. So, if you really want to feel good after having visited a restaurant, then follow the below mentioned tips.

Things to be kept in mind while eating outside:

1. Don’t ask for the bread bowl. One of the first items served by many restaurants is bread, and since you are hungry you find it difficult to hold back your temptation. You can always instruct the waiter not to serve bread.

2. The best way to avoid overeating is to have water before you even order for some food. Hence, if you have excess water in your stomach, then you won’t feel too hungry by the time your food arrives.

3. It is always a good idea to have vegetables and salads at the beginning. If you have more vegetables that consist of high fiber, then your stomach will already be full and you will not have too much of high calorie food items.

4. Don’t count the calorie intake. Instead, divide your entire meal into small portions on a plate. Put protein based food on one side and vegetables and carbohydrate based food on the other.

5. You don’t have to have everything that has been served on the plate. Hence, you can always ask the waiter to pack those food items that you are finding difficult to consume and have it later.

6. You can always ask you friend to share the food with you. This way you will manage to avoid overeating.

7. One must also remember to have only water while at the restaurant and avoid Soda. Soda water contains a lot of sugar. Also, avoid
alcohol and beer since they are high on calories.

8. Always remember to order for dressings and sauces separately.

This way, you will be able to keep a check on the quantity you consume during the meals.

9. You must always remember to order for fish and grilled vegetables to be made using less oil.


10. If you find cream sauce lying on the table, then ask the waiter to get you tomato sauce instead - if at all you are planning to have pizzas and pastas.

11. When you order for dessert, remember to share it with your friend. You will be able to avoid calories.

12. Order for soups since it is good to fill your stomach and they are good appetizers.

13. If you feel that your stomach is full then don’t have food any more. Inculcate the habit of paying attention to your body’s requirements.

14.
Never order for French fries. Have baked potatoes or steamed vegetables instead.

Conclusion:

There is no requirement to punish your body and avoid restaurants. You can instead choose to order for food items that are boiled, steamed, baked or broiled.




This ensures that your food will be prepared in less oil, and hence you won’t end up consuming too many calories.
