Diet Plan for Future Fathers

If you and your wife are planning a child, then you must remember that as a father-to-be you need to have healthy food as well.

The idea is to include nutritious and a variety of food items to enhance male fertility. If you are eating unhealthy food and consuming alcohol on a regular basis, then there is every chance that your sperm quantity will be affected. Sticking to a healthy diet plan will only assist you in conceiving a healthy child.

How Can You Enhance Male Fertility?

If you are planning to become a father, then have those food products that are rich in vitamin C. You should also consume zinc, calcium and vitamin D and vitamin E. This will help improve male fertility. Calcium is good for regulating sperms and improves its longevity.

Hence, include cheese, low fat containing milk, broccoli, salmon, spinach, yoghurt and sunflower seeds. All of these products are rich in calcium.

You must also consume Chromium. It is essential for your body as it helps in regulating blood sugar level and maintains hormonal insulin. If you do not have the required amount of chromium, then it can affect your male fertility.

Have more lettuce, honey, onions (raw), yeast, liver and oysters.

If you wish to increase your motility and sperm count then have Coenzyme Q10. It helps your body to produce more energy and thus, more sperms.

Soy, sardines, mackerel, peanuts, spinach and vegetable oil are good sources of Coenzyme Q10.

Some of the Fat based Acids such as EFA's are crucial for proper functioning of the body. Hence, you need to consume Omega-3 and Omega-6.

They form a part of the nerve cells and is important for proper functioning of the cellular membrane.

They regulate the hormone level in your body. Since, by simply including  some of the items in your diet plan you cannot ensure that your body is getting sufficient fatty acids, you can also have oil extracted from fish. It helps in restoring the level of omega-3.

Have flaxseed oil, starflower oil, salmon, sardines and mackerel. They all contain Omega-3.

If you don't want to suffer from sperm deficiency, then Folic Acid is a must for you. It will work even better, if you combine it with zinc.

Sources of Folic acid are spinach, grains, eggs, liver, lentils, wheat germ and fortified cereals.

Selenium is basically an anti-oxidant that helps you avoid any sort of damages to the sperm. It also assists in maximizing sperm quantity. If you wish to keep your sperm count intact, then you must consume Selenium.

Have tuna fish, beef, brazil nuts, turkey, cod, rice and noodles.

Vitamins Are Important:

You must also have a lot of vitamin based food, in order to improve your male fertility. Have Vitamin C as this helps you avoiding any sort of damage to the sperm. Your sperms won't be clumped enough and will become more mobile.

Have juices made from fruits such as apple, orange, grapes, asparagus and strawberries. Vitamin D also helps in increasing fertility as it helps absorb calcium from the item that you select for eating.

Therefore, have salmon, tuna fish, eggs and low fat milk among other food products.

Conclusion:

While it is important for you to have the above food products, you must also avoid the intake of Alcohol, drugs and Caffeine. They decrease the sperm level in your body. Also give up on your smoking habits and don't work under stress.
