Being Picky when choosing a Date

Finding a partner to date is a serious matter for people these days. They want to make sure that they are with the right person and the one they have chosen perfectly fit in to their idea of Mr. /Ms. Right. It would not be wrong to say that people have become very picky when it comes to finding a date.

Surprisingly some of the daters have become picky just as some picky eaters would choose their food. This is quite surprising.

The practice may be necessary to a certain extent but not when it goes overboard. One needs to draw a line between being picky and too picky when choosing whom to date.

There is a big difference between being a picky eater and being picky when choosing a date. Comparing humans and their feelings with food items is cruel. This is just not fair on your part.

Usually picky eaters have their own specific preferences about what to eat and what not. They would simply refuse to eat anything that will not match their idea of perfect food. Sometimes they would stay hungry for long inquest of getting what they want.

They would starve themselves than settling for what they do not like. This affects their health. Similarly being a picky dater will affect your life.

Just as picky eaters may miss out on healthy and nutritious food because they prefer a pizza or hotdog, picky daters can end up missing out on some brilliant people.

As already discussed, being picky to a certain extent is good. You are not in loss if you are focusing on certain values and assets. For instance, if you find that your date is not compatible with your individuality, there are ways in which you can make things work.

You can forgive some of your date’s faults and make some compromises together. However, if you see that your date has become offensive and abusive, you can be as picky as you want. This is quite similar to your ‘good’ habit of being a picky eater.

If you are being served with salad instead of sandwich, you can compromise but if you are served with burgers, pastries, fried food, pizzas and hot dogs all the time, you have the right to refuse and stick to a nutritious diet.

What is the right way to be picky when choosing a date?  Well, being picky does not mean that you reject every guy or girl for petty issues that can be ignored.

Eating junk and tastier food once in a while will not kill you! You need to analyze carefully whether the flaw you find in a person is unbearable enough to reject him/her.

If you find a person simply impossible to date due to many valid reasons, choose not to date. However, if you think that the person has some flaws that can be ignored and possess many qualities that makes him/her, a wonderful person to date with, then it would not be wise to reject him/her.
