Shedding Weight Post Pregnancy

Pregnancy is known to be one of the most wonderful stages in a woman’s life. This is a stage where she waits to experience the joy of motherhood.

This feeling is simply out of this world. Once the bundle of joy comes out, the happiness and excitement is doubled.

However, a woman has to pay a heavy price for this wonderful feeling. She may go out of shape and accumulate a lot of fat in her body. This may make her feel ugly and fat.

Having a baby also means managing all the flab and bulk you have accumulated on your body. There are some women who are lucky to lose pregnancy weight at a quick pace.

They do not require making a lot of efforts towards this. However all women are not lucky.

For most women, losing pregnancy weight is a nightmare. They need to make a lot of efforts towards it. If you have been going through this stage of your life, don’t worry. 

There is a solution. Here are some steps to follow in order to shed weight post pregnancy:

Do not expect too much:

You should keep realistic expectations. Understand that you gained this weight gradually over 9 nine months.

This will not shed off within 9 days or nine weeks. It will definitely take some time. Expecting any miracle will be unrealistic and cruel to your body.

Love your body and give it some time to recover from pregnancy blues. Vigorous exercises, crash diets, topical creams or pills will not work.

You need to focus on making consistent efforts towards your target. This is the only way to lose weight post pregnancy.

Sometimes the process may take less time if you are genetically lucky. However, if it is taking time, understand that your body type is different and requires special care and attention. Do not expect much in a short span of time.

Celebrity moms are different:

Comparing yourself with celebrity moms would be impractical. It is true that they get back in to shape as soon as they deliver a baby.




However, your life is different from a celebrity mother. They are surrounded by top nutritionists, physical trainers and personal chefs 24 x 7.

They have nannies to take care of their babies so that they can have a good night’s sleep. Hence, it is simply impossible to get what celebrity moms do after a short period of delivering a baby.

The process will take time. You need to exercise a little patience, consistency and keep your will power high. This will let you accomplish your goals sooner than you expected!

Consult a doctor:

Strictly avoid exercising immediately after pregnancy. Too much strain and physical exertion can be really hazardous for your body. It can lead to internal injury or damage.

You need to allow your body to heal properly. It may take about 2-6 months depending on the mode of delivery prior to your body returning to its normal self. Consult your doctor before you start exercising.
