Have You Tried The Flavour Point Diet Yet?

Have you been dieting for a long time now and found that the results have not at all been favourable? In addition, if the diet programme has resulted in you shunning a lot of food items and hence the flavours that you were once very fond of have disappeared from your life, then you can take a look at the flavour point diet programme.

The Idea behind the Flavour Point Diet:

The flavour point diet has been created by Dr. David Katz, the director of the Yale prevention research centre. The diet has been designed after careful medical research, and observing the behaviour of many people. According to the diet, if you limit the flavours every time you have a meal, then you won’t feel like eating often. This will also help you get rid of your overeating tendency.

The research further states that if you have different types of food items, then it will stimulate the different centres for appetite present in the brain. Hence, it will only increase your urge to have more food, if a certain appetite centre is stimulated.

This is because you will always feel like satisfying your urge, and till those flavours which you are fond of don’t reach the appetite centre, you won’t feel very satisfied. It has been observed that dieters feel more satisfied if their meals are simple. Hence, the flavour point diet is aimed at offering simple and healthy meals that further allows them to shed around nine to sixteen pounds in a matter of six weeks time.

Flavour Point Diet

The flavour point diet revolves around three phases.

First Phase:

This particular phase has to be continued for a period of four weeks. This phase aims at reducing cravings that is caused when the appetite centres are over stimulated inside our brains.

Hence, flavours can vary from cranberry, lemon, mint, peach and thyme. If you combine and limit food on the basis of their particular flavours, then you can easily reduce your cravings.

Second Phase:

This particular phase has to be followed for a period of five to six weeks. In this phase, flavours are increased and the rules and regulations that are to be followed are cut down. Hence, instead of following a flavour theme for the whole day, it is followed for each and every meal. In addition to this, the dieters are given advice to avoid sweets in one of the meals.

Third Phase:

This phase is all about maintaining the diet plan. It essentially means that dieters are given complete freedom to select the food items of their choice. Hence, you are required to follow the basic principles of the flavour point diet.

Dieters may design their own meals based on the basic principles of the plan. Those dieters who are looking to lose a lot of weight can reduce their calorie intake with every meal and also avoid deserts. This is known as weight loss express option, and it is available with the flavour point diet programme.

Food that you can enjoy

Dieters are given an advice to have fresh food such as salads, and vegetables. You can also have a beverage that is hot after dinner and lunch. This will help in keeping the stomach full and so you will not end up over eating.

Therefore, in the first week, you can have raisin, lemon, cranberry, pineapple, orange, apple and peach. In the second week, you are advised to enjoy carrot, spinach, onion, tomato, mushroom, bell pepper and pumpkin. For the third week, you can have tomato, apple, walnut, sesame, almond, basil and sesame. In the fourth week, have orange, spinach, lemon, mint, cranberry and pecan.
