LG LW5600 3D LCD HDTV: A review
             
With the craze for 3D capable HDTVs on the rise, the LG LW5600 3D LCD HDTV has entered the market with a bang.

The LED lit LCD model is slim edged and has a number of unique features. It has a Film Patterned Retarder screen which plays back 3D that is viewable with RealD glasses used at movie theatres.

There are a number of features like software for Plex media streaming and magic motion remote control working by gestures.

The design is quite impressive and very slim with a thickness of 1.2 inches. The volume and power controls are touch sensitive and are located at lower right hand corner.

They are responsive and easy to use but do not light up so they may be hard to locate.

The design of the stand is quite unassuming and thus, matches completely with the rest of the design of the frame.

The 49 pound screen remains steady but swivels easily right or left at the very same time so as to provide easy access to the inputs at the back. On the sides are 2 USB and 2 HDMI jacks which make them very easily accessible.

The USB dongle of the TV is quite easy for set up. The settings for the TV are unbelievably easy to customize.

If you want you can even turn off the TruMotion 120Hz motion processing feature of the TV through customization.

Due to the inclusion of a large number of features and apps, the remote has three separate menu buttons for the home menu, premium menu and quick menu.

There is a separate menu set up for the Magic Motion gesture control remote.

There is yet another one as well which comes up when you view the content in 3D. You can pick and choose from the various apps that pop up and easily access to presets.

The remote also has a backlight and basically acts like an onscreen cursor.

There are some other built in features ion the TV like access to Vudu, Netflix, Amazon, YouTube, MLB,tv, etc.

There are apps which bring channels such as Revision3 accessible quite easily from main menu. There is a latest firmware update that enables you to view 3D videos on YouTube, thus greatly enhancing the available amount of view. There are speculations that Hulu Plus will be arriving soon.

LG has included the Plex Media Server client which gives you the ability to browse media with well-designed menus and additional metadata.

For those who want it, LG pulls music, pictures and videos from other devices through DLNA as well.

The price of the LG LW5600 3D LCD HDTV has been kept mid range, from $1,700 to $2,100 which is the price for an average 55 inch TV.
