Cesar Lopez (of Columbian extraction) is now famous for his ability to convert a war weapon for killing people into a messenger for love, peace, and unity across the globe.

Owing to this wonderful creation, he has achieved both political and artistic success. Even the Columbian Vice President has taken measures to encourage his skills by donating a dozen of old AK-47s to him.

A gun is the symbol of hatred and extreme violence, which has now been converted into a symbol of love. He has shown the whole world how an object of death and destruction can be rebuilt into a constructive object.

The new instrument is a combination of two very different objects, both from starkly opposite domains. He has converted an old and decommissioned AK-47 into an electric guitar that whiffs out musical notes with beautiful tunes.

According to him, these guitars are named “Escopetarras.” It is a Spanish word, which means ‘rifle guitars’. It is indeed a very thoughtful name.

Lopez not only shows his skill to build them but also presents live public performances to entertain and motivate people in spreading the message of love and peace. He never sells his AK-47 cum guitars or takes any money for his street performances in Bogota.

His decommissioned AK-47 plays music that mesmerizes the audience and spreads love and unity. The audience always becomes more spellbound because of the design of the guitar. He is from a nation where there is tremendous internal anarchy.

Therefore, his passion for enchanting music and such a unique technology-modified creation that will encourage people to stop using weapons for universal peace and unity.

Something looking like a gun that produces music is as amazing as it is awesome!

He got the idea of creating such a valuable device in 2003. He was one of the witnesses of a horrible bomb explosion in a car near the Bogota Country Club when he was performing there.

At that time, amidst the chaos that was created due to such an explosion, he watched how these rifles were carried on their shoulders by army guards.

He found their style very similar to the way musicians carry their guitars. Thus, an electric guitar was born out of the ashes of an AK-47.
