Effects of caffeine on your health: Some shocking facts

Today most people across the globe cannot start their day without a cup of coffee or tea. For some, having more than 3 cups of tea or coffee is just a routine.

However, most people are not aware of the fact that drinking tea, cocoa, coffee, cola or chocolate is similar to giving body a hit of caffeine.

Caffeine is also known to be one of the most widely sold drug that affects mood. So how does caffeine affect your health? Here are some shocking facts that you never knew about caffeine.

What is caffeine?

Caffeine can be defined as a powerful, quick acting drug that produces a kind of stress response in human body. The effect of caffeine is different on each person.

This also depends on different circumstances such as built, weight etc. most people do not know that the effect of caffeine is instant on the body. This continues to affect body for up 6-8 hours after the intake of coffer.

Here are some of the most common effects of caffeine on human body:

* Caffeine stimulates respiratory system, heart and central nervous system.

* Caffeine stimulates circulation of blood in the body.

* Caffeine can raise blood pressure.

* Caffeine can pass messages along nervous system in a quick manner.

* Caffeine can irritate stomach linning.

* Addiction of caffeine tends to trigger irritability, nervousness, agitation, ringing in the  ears and headaches.

* Caffeine intake can make your pancreas over work. Since caffeine releases extra blood sugar from storage. This makes pancreas over work via producing additional insulin to decrease this extra blood sugar in the body.

This may not have bad effects in the short term but may affect badly in the long run as users may complain about shakiness, yo-yo effect (emotional), palpitation, tiredness, weakness and a lot more.

These tend to disappear only after a few days of stopping intake of caffeine.

* Intake of caffeine is also closely associated with osteoporosis or reduced bone density in women.

* Caffeine can affect overall length and quality of sleep people who take excessive amount of caffeine can suffer from lack of sleep. They can also face difficulty in getting in to deep sleep in the long run.

With so many health hazards of caffeine intake, it does not mean that you should totally abstain from caffeine intake.

However, you should restrict caffeine intake to only 1-2 cups in a day. This will let you enjoy the kick to start off your day.
