A large meal will retard the healing process of massage because the body devotes all its energy towards the important digestion process. The best thing to do is to eat thirty minutes prior to the massage session. You may even have a light meal before the massage.


Punctual:

Reaching late for the massage session may make you nervous. You may also keep worrying about reaching back home or missing the session. The after effects of worrying a lot immediately before a massage are not good.

Clothes:

Remove all your clothing. This should be as per your discussion with the therapist. You should focus on wearing what you feel comfortable in. this will help the therapist to work on the desired areas of body.

Communication:

Most people do not realize this but good communication is imperative for the massage to be effective and enjoyable. Make sure you offer accurate health information to the therapist. You must allow the therapist to know what you expect from the massage.

Try telling the therapist about the pressure you want or about any discomfort you feel during the massage. Also mention about any problem with the temperature of room, volume of music and lighting. Talk to the therapist if you feel like. There is no hard and fast rule about staying quite during a massage session.

Water:

Try drinking plenty of water on the massage day. Stay away from caffeinated drinks. This will help you feel relaxed during the massage.

Breathing:

Correct breathing will help in keeping you relaxed. There are many who stop breathing during a massage. Breathe well.

Loosen yourself up:


Strictly avoid tightening up during the massage. You must allow your massage therapist know about what is happening. Loosen yourself up.

No Gadgets Please!

If you want to have an ultimate relaxing massage session, it is important to turn your cell phone and other gadgets off. Understand that this is the time to relax and you must keep all kinds of interruptions away.

Visit the Bathroom:


Do not forget to use the bathroom prior to the starting of massage session. Strictly avoid holding because you will not be able to enjoy massage.

No Jewelry:


You must remove jewelry before the massage starts. This will help the therapist massage your neck, fingers and ears without any problem.
