All about Synthetic and Natural Vitamins

Most of you tend to ask if there are any nutritional differences between synthetic and natural vitamin. Although a good question, this is also an extremely complicated question as it, at times, depend on the perspectives of an individual.

According to a renowned Doctor, the answer is a yes, that is, there are nutritional differences between synthetic and natural vitamins.

A few supplement companies usually tend to point out that natural vitamins are comparatively better and stress on the fact that one should have natural vitamins, making you buy the supplements of these natural vitamins.

You will end up paying a lot for these so-called natural products but be assured of the fact that around 90% of the vitamins available in the US are synthetic vitamins.

Vitamin A, Vitamin B, Vitamin C and Vitamin E

Now, it is essential to get to know these vitamins and point out the places where they can make a difference. It is not important with Vitamin B and Vitamin C, as they are of simplistic chemical structure, and the manufacturers are apt at producing duplicates. It is far more difficult in cases of Vitamin A and Vitamin C.

Beta-carotene

The human body performs the function of converting beta-carotene into Vitamin A. Therefore, the benefits of beta-carotene are more or less similar to that of Vitamin A, with the exception of getting rid of its multiple risks.

Most of the available varieties of multi vitamins available nowadays make use of beta-carotene in order to supply parts of the Vitamin A component.

Beta- carotene, furthermore, has the added advantage of being a far better anti oxidant compared to Vitamin A. Most of the complex vitamins contain a chemical structure that is to be found in right or left handed rotations.

In case of beta carotene, ‘cis’ rotation is the more popular variety of rotations in nature wherein, even a few ‘trans-’ rotated molecules can also be found.

These ‘cis’ rotated molecules have greater anti oxidation capacity compared with the ‘trans-‘ rotated ones. Unfortunately, the synthetic variety of beta-carotene contain lesser ‘cis’ molecules.

Furthermore, carotenoids like gamma and alpha carotenes are also advantageous but these are essentially found in beta-carotene’s natural sources.

Try to find out the source of beta-carotene you buy in order to be assured of the fact that it is available from a natural resource.

Vitamin A is better taken from fish oil sources

In case you are fighting an infection, it is better to go for Vitamin A rather than take beta-carotene. It is advisable to have Vitamin A from natural sources like fish oil, as the synthetic variety is comparatively more toxic.

Vitamin E

It is advisable to take Vitamin E in its natural form rather than resort to its synthetic variety as it can be retained and absorbed in a far better way if you take Vitamin A from natural sources.

Furthermore, it has a few other benefits that are not to be found in the Synthetic variety of Vitamin E.

Conclusion

Remember that all these vitamins need to be taken together in order to maximize its benefit. That is, you need to include all types of food in your diet so that you can have a regular and a balanced diet as all these vitamins work in accordance with each other in order to provide maximum benefit.
