Mental Health Conditions Affect All Ages

Mental health conditions have become common among people all across the globe these days. According to a study conducted by the National Institute for Mental Health, it has been proved that more than about twenty six percent of Americans over 18 years of age are diagnosed with mental health disorder each year.

The percentage amounts to almost sixty million people. The Institute has also confirmed that about six percent out of the total sixty percent suffer from severe mental health condition.

Unfortunately, mental ailment was found to be the major source of physical disability amongst people. The majority of people were teenagers, adults and the old.

This indicates that age has nothing to do with mental health ailments. Anyone can suffer from the problem. Children and teenagers can also suffer from this serious condition.

The signs and symptoms of mental ailments may vary with age. The problem in children can be temporary. This can be treated effectively with specialized medical care.

Teenagers suffer from the problem due to various types of addiction, stress, anxiety and depression. They are also unable to cope up with huge expectations from their parents and teachers.
