 The Secrets of a Juice Diet

No other diet yields better results than the famed juice diet. This type of a diet not only helps you to lose the extra pounds but it also detoxifies the system. So, just go juicing and you will be blessed with a beautiful lean body you have always dreamt of.

What is a Juice Diet?


A juice diet is a kind of detox diet. A detoxification diet helps in flushing out the toxins, metabolites as well as other drugs from the body. A juice diet is considered to be an extreme form of detox diet as solid foods are not consumed during this diet.

A juice diet involves the consumption of fruit and vegetable juice only for a certain period of time. Supporters of this diet are of the opinion that it is a very good source phytonutrients, minerals, vitamins and antioxidants.

What to Expect?

Firstly, juice diets should not be confused with any other type of liquid diet. A juice diet is based on vegetable and fruit juice is very different from the usual liquid diet.

While you are on a fruit diet, you are required to consume about 8 tall glasses, each containing about 12 ounces, of specially formulated juices. These should not be mistaken with the packed fruit juices available in the market like Tropicana etc.

 

Some points to be remembered are:

    *    These diets are usually undertaken during the warm months. Spring is supposed to be the best time to go on a juice diet.

    *    Almost seven day prior to embarking on a juice diet all forms of alcohol, caffeine, sugar, dairy, nicotine, wheat, fish, eggs, and meat are eliminated from the diet. The preparation diet mainly comprises of organic beans, vegetables and fruits.

    *    The daily intake requirement is around 32 to 64 ounces of juice that has to be sipped throughout the day. The typical vegetables and fruits include carrot, celery, cabbage, kale, pineapple, apple, spinach, cranberry, greens and beet. Citrus fruits should preferably be avoided.

    *
   Organic vegetables and fruits are recommended. If these are not available, the fruits and vegetable should be peeled a washed using a non-toxic cleaner.

    *    Sprouts and green vegetable are also recommended as they have pigment chlorophyll.

    *    Certain vegetable and fruits and their parts must not be juiced like the pits of peaches, cherries, apricots, and other fruits such as carrots, apple seeds, avocados, banana etc.

A Special Formula for a Juice Diet

For a juice diet to succeed, you need to drink specially prepared juices that are available online or at the health stores. These drinks are designed to fulfil the daily nutritional requirements of the body by adding extra minerals and vitamins that are not present in fresh fruit juices.

Who should not try the Juice Diet?


People who should not go on a juice diet are

    *    Children

    *    Pregnant women

    *    People with low blood sugar, diabetes, kidney disease, eating disorders, kidney disease, low blood pressure, terminal illness, epilepsy, nutritional deficiencies and the like

    *    People who have recently undergone or are about to have a surgery.

How long does a Juice Diet last?

Usually juice diets last for about one to three days. Longer juice diets may call for medical supervision and monitoring for ensuring that they do not result in any nutrient deficiencies.

How quick are the results?

Normally, you will start noticing the difference in just two days.
