The total protein intake should be distributed among 5-6 meals throughout the day.
The number of times you consume proteins in a day is very important. You can eat protein rich food for your breakfast, before you work out and even your evening snacks.

A good high protein diet will consist of high protein breakfast. Immediately after the work out, you should make it a point to drink some protein shake or any drink that would facilitate the repairing of the broken muscles tissues.

Strangely, a protein meal before going to bed slowly releases high quality amino acids all the while you are fast asleep. Moreover, a high protein diet boosts the antioxidant levels and saves you from infections and a few illnesses.



A Few Items Rich in Protein

Casein – The milk protein in cow milk is called casein. It is low on cholesterol and fat and is used in many liquid protein drinks as well as in making coffee, cheese, baby milk etc.

Whey – It is the natural protein present in cow’s milk. It has no fat or cholesterol but is rich in amino acids. It helps in losing weight as it curbs hunger.

Turkey – It is a lean meat containing lots of proteins and very low fat.

Soy – Soy beans have linolenic acid that helps in cell building and hormone production. They are extremely high on proteins.



Nuts – Nuts are rich in both protein and fat, but are a good source of protein for vegetarians.
