Big-breakfast diet was introduced by Dr Jakubowicz who hails from Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr Jakubowicz has recommended this diet to many people for years now. However, the diet has become popular of late.

She was of the view that a big-breakfast diet can increase a human body's metabolism. A diet plan that does not incorporate carbohydrates in sufficient quantity results in low metabolism.

What can you have as part of the Big Breakfast Diet?

If you eat a heavy breakfast that comprises around 600 calories and also provides protein and carbohydrates to your body, then you can shed much of your weight and continue with the diet for a long time.

If you have a big breakfast diet, then there you are less likely to overeat or eat out of impulse or emotion. You will also be able to maintain good mental and physical health.

Hence, a big breakfast diet comprises vegetables and fruits. You can have grain based cereals and breads as well.

You can also add skimmed milk or cheese (low fat content). Include eggs, fish and meat in your breakfast as well. They can fend the body with protein.
